Hunter Valley Thoroughbred Breeders Association Equistart Program – this is a four week fully subsidised program including three weeks of coursework and a one week work placement.
Run by Thoroughbred Breeders Australia this 12 month program takes successful applicants through a Certificate III in Horse Breeding, whilst completing a 12 month paid traineeship on a leading thoroughbred stud farm.
Many management staff at stud farms, training stables, racing authorities, race clubs and bloodstock agents have completed general University degrees before pursuing a successful career.

An international management and leadership training programme for the thoroughbred industry with studies in Ireland, England, USA, Australia & Dubai. 12 candidates worldwide are selected annually to receive the fully-funded scholarship. The course is two year full-time and starts in August each year.
A training programme for the breeding industry located at the Irish National Stud in Kildare, Ireland. Training is mainly of a practical nature and is designed to provide students with a hands-on approach to every aspect of horse breeding. The course is full-time residential and starts mid-January each year. Scholarship is offered to an Australian each year through the Hunter Thoroughbred Breeders Association.

KEMI offers educational experience by integrating academic studies with practical experience, leadership and responsibility as a contributing participant on a Central Kentucky horse farm. It is a full-time, 24-week course offered to college graduates two times each year – once during the spring breeding and foaling season (Jan-June) and once during the fall sales and yearling breaking and training season (June-Dec).
